WHAT I’M UP TO…

  • WRAPPED FILMING FOR "COMMITTEE ANIMAL" IN NOVEMBER

This month I had the privilege of shooting a film in beautiful Santa Barbara with Redfield Pictures.

Committee Animal written and directed by Robert Redfield is a short film that “takes a smart look at an alternative origin story for some of today’s wonderfully weird looking animals.”

I play “Julie Hodges",” a recent college grad from the year 1969. I absolutely loved my costume, and was so impressed with the art department - who built the set from scratch.

Can’t wait to see the final product. You can read more about the film here: https://www.committeeanimal.com/

  • WORLD PREMIERE OF "THEN WE'LL REST"

I had an amazing time originating the lead role of "Penny" in the world premiere production of Eliya Smith's Then We'll Rest.

I love getting to work on new plays and new characters. "Penny" was challenging in many ways, including a scene where I did a monologue with sixteen marshmallows in my mouth.

This was my second time working with ISLE Theater Company. You can read more about the production here: https://isletheater.org/shows/then-well-rest

  • RECENTLY WRAPPED FILMING for "GOOD SHEARS"

I recently wrapped filming for the thriller/horror short GOOD SHEARS.

I love to watch horror and thrillers, but this is my first time working in the genre. Despite the gore-y subject matter, this is the most fun I’ve had on a film set. (…And my first time using a blowtorch!)

I don’t want to spoil any of the plot here, but “Mel” is one of the most complex characters I’ve gotten to play.

Witten & directed by Aiden Choi and produced by Eugene Ko & Sofia Monroy. More soon!

  • BROADWAY WORLD NOMINATION for "WATER, WATER EVERYWHERE"

Over the summer I had the privilege of working in Maine with ISLE Theater Company on the World Premiere of Water, Water Everywhere - an adaptation of The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.

This was a physically and emotionally taxing project! I played Angie’s daughter, Ally. This track doubled as the infamous Albatross. I loved getting to explore a complex mother/daughter relationship while diving into rich literature. Traveling to Maine (which had been on my bucket list for a long time) and getting toI run around in a wedding dress made for the best summer ever.

I am so honored to receive a Broadway World Nomination in the “Best Supporting Performer in a Play (Professional)” category for my work in this play. You can read more about the play and theater company here: https://www.isletheater.org/shows/water-water-everywhere

  • PEOPLE MAGAZINE INVESTIGATES

I am playing real life survivor, Leslie O’Dell, in a recent episode of People Magazine Investigates!

Although this deals with serious subject matter, I had a great time working on this project. You can watch on Discovery Plus, Max, Hulu, Apple TV, or Amazon Prime.

  • "(t)RUST" in NYC

I recently closed the premier of (t)RUST in New York City! The show was at the Tank Theater. You can read our official cast announcement here: https://www.broadwayworld.com/off-off-broadway/article/Cast-Announced-For-the-New-York-Premiere-of-tRUST-at-the-Tank-20230214

(t)RUST is an original play about two estranged sisters and their childhood friend reuniting under the circumstances of a mutually known missing person. I played Evie, who is the more eccentric of the two sisters.

I was so excited to be making my New York debut and to be working in a dark comedy - it is my favorite genre!

  • PLAYING ESTER IN "DRY LAND"

In my senior year at Penn State had the opportunity of playing Ester in Dry Land by Ruby Rae Spiegel - which is now my favorite play ever (and I’m patiently waiting for a movie adaptation.)

“Dry Land is a play about abortion, female friendship, and resiliency, and what happens in one high school locker room after everybody’s left” (Dramatists Play Service, Inc)…

I proposed that we do Dry Land because I was disappointed by the opportunity for female presenting actors in our program. Thankfully many people felt the same way as me, and we soon had a full production team working on the show.

Dry Land got great reviews, with a lot of people saying it was the best production they had ever seen at Penn State, and even the best student production they had ever seen. Through this process, I grew a lot as an actor and as a person. I took big strides advocating for myself and for other female identifying people in my acting program. Moving forward, I hope to do more work like Dry Land.
